How the Ford Kuga compares with the market
Holding mileage, fuel and gearbox constant, each extra year of age takes about 6.1% off the asking price of a used Ford Kuga. That is faster than the market, which loses about 5–6% a year, and ranks 11th of the 15 most-listed models in our study (1st loses the least).
Each extra 10,000 miles takes about 6.2% off, which is more sensitive to mileage than the market (about 5% per 10,000 miles); that ranks 15th of 15 for mileage. Overall, the Ford Kuga loses value faster than the typical used car.
Ford Kuga asking prices by year
The oldest model year in the table, 2017 (8 cars), has a median asking price of £9,299 with 70,030 miles. The newest, 2026, sits at £27,474 with 8,633 miles. The biggest jump between consecutive years is from 2024 (£18,524) to 2025 (£22,299), partly because the newer cars have fewer miles (14,873 against 33,003).
| Year | Cars | Median price | Median mileage |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2017 | 8 | £9,299 | 70,030 |
| 2018 | 14 | £10,999 | 57,099 |
| 2019 | 26 | £10,999 | 51,902 |
| 2020 | 21 | £14,199 | 34,964 |
| 2021 | 23 | £14,749 | 37,294 |
| 2022 | 34 | £18,149 | 21,444 |
| 2023 | 68 | £17,699 | 28,580 |
| 2024 | 61 | £18,524 | 33,003 |
| 2025 | 46 | £22,299 | 14,873 |
| 2026 | 6 | £27,474 | 8,633 |
Medians mix trims, engines and fuel types, so a single year's figure can move up or down with the mix of cars on sale. The per-year and per-mile rates above come from a regression that controls for fuel and gearbox.
What this means if you're selling your Ford Kuga
Half of the Kugas for sale are plug-in hybrids (51%), with diesel at 21%, hybrid at 16% and petrol at just 12%. That is the most plug-in-heavy fuel mix in our top 15, so buyers expect PHEV pricing as the reference point.
The Kuga is the most mileage-sensitive model we studied: 6.2% per 10,000 miles. If you are near a round-number milestone, selling before you cross it can protect value. The automatic premium is about 11.8%.
What this means if you're buying a used Ford Kuga
High-mileage Kugas cost noticeably less, so a car with more miles but a full service history can be a sensible buy. 2023 is the deepest year (68 cars, median £17,699).
Only 6 cars from 2026 were listed, so the newest-year median (£27,474) rests on very few cars and should be read with caution.
Worked example
A 2023 Ford Kuga with 28,580 miles is advertised at about £17,699. One more year of age takes off roughly £1,080; 10,000 more miles takes off roughly £1,100. A year in which you also drive 10,000 miles would cost around £2,180 in lost value, before fuel, tax, insurance and servicing.
