What the numbers mean
In most years a Tiguan costs £3,000-£7,000 more than a Kuga of the same age. Mileage explains some of it (the 2024 Kugas in our data averaged about 33,000 miles against 14,400 for the Tiguans), but our model, which separates age and mileage, still shows the Kuga depreciating faster. Half the Kugas listed are plug-in hybrids (51%); used plug-in hybrids lose their premium quickly as they age. For buyers, that makes a used Kuga plug-in hybrid good value, as long as the battery and charging history check out. The one year where the Kuga is dearer, 2022, is down to low-mileage cars in our sample.
