Cookie Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) used on movalue.co.uk, what each one does and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Cookies let a site remember things such as whether you are signed in, or measure how pages are used. Local storage works in a similar way but the data stays in your browser and is not sent to our servers with every request.

1. Strictly necessary and functional cookies

These are needed for the site to work and cannot be switched off in our systems.

2. Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, which pages are visited, how people arrive at the site and where they leave. This helps us fix problems and improve content. Google Analytics cookies typically include _ga and _ga_* and can last up to two years. The information is not used to identify you personally.

3. Advertising cookies

We show adverts served by Google AdSense and measure the effectiveness of our own adverts with Google Ads. Google and its partners may use cookies (for example __gads, __gpi, IDE and NID) to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see an ad, and to measure ad performance.

You can find out how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. You can turn off personalised advertising at any time in Google Ad Settings, or opt out of many third-party advertising cookies at youronlinechoices.com.

4. Other third-party content

Where we display a Trustpilot reviews widget, Trustpilot may set its own cookies when the widget loads. Links to car-buying services and to carVertical are affiliate links: when you click one, that website may set its own cookies to record that you arrived from moValue. Those cookies are governed by the third party's own policy.

How to control cookies

Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in from working, but you can still run a valuation without an account. Guides for common browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.

Changes to this policy

If we add or remove cookies we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
