How the MINI Hatchback compares with the market
Holding mileage, fuel and gearbox constant, each extra year of age takes about 6.3% off the asking price of a used MINI Hatchback. That is faster than the market, which loses about 5–6% a year, and ranks 13th of the 15 most-listed models in our study (1st loses the least).
Each extra 10,000 miles takes about 4.4% off, which is less sensitive to mileage than the market (about 5% per 10,000 miles); that ranks 4th of 15 for mileage. Overall, the MINI Hatchback sits close to the typical used car, with age doing slightly more of the damage.
MINI Hatchback asking prices by year
The oldest model year in the table, 2018 (23 cars), has a median asking price of £11,899 with 41,084 miles. The newest, 2026, sits at £26,099 with 4,573 miles. The biggest jump between consecutive years is from 2023 (£15,549) to 2024 (£20,224), partly because the newer cars have fewer miles (14,686 against 22,150).
| Year | Cars | Median price | Median mileage |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2018 | 23 | £11,899 | 41,084 |
| 2019 | 31 | £12,499 | 40,684 |
| 2020 | 22 | £12,274 | 36,083 |
| 2021 | 36 | £14,649 | 31,198 |
| 2022 | 47 | £15,499 | 23,227 |
| 2023 | 47 | £15,549 | 22,150 |
| 2024 | 12 | £20,224 | 14,686 |
| 2025 | 15 | £23,499 | 8,371 |
| 2026 | 14 | £26,099 | 4,573 |
Medians mix trims, engines and fuel types, so a single year's figure can move up or down with the mix of cars on sale. The per-year and per-mile rates above come from a regression that controls for fuel and gearbox.
What this means if you're selling your MINI Hatchback
One MINI Hatchback in five for sale is electric (21%), and the rest are petrol. An electric MINI and a petrol MINI attract different buyers, so compare your car only with the same powertrain.
The MINI loses 6.3% a year, faster than the market, but only 4.4% per 10,000 miles. Most cars are automatic (71%), and an automatic adds about 15.6%.
What this means if you're buying a used MINI Hatchback
Most MINIs for sale are 2018–2023 cars. 2022 and 2023 each have 47 listings, at medians of £15,499 and £15,549.
Newer cars are scarce (12 from 2024, 15 from 2025), so the medians for those years rest on few cars.
Worked example
A 2022 MINI Hatchback with 23,227 miles is advertised at about £15,499. One more year of age takes off roughly £980; 10,000 more miles takes off roughly £680. A year in which you also drive 10,000 miles would cost around £1,660 in lost value, before fuel, tax, insurance and servicing.
