How the Hyundai i20 compares with the market

Holding mileage, fuel and gearbox constant, each extra year of age takes about 4.3% off the asking price of a used Hyundai i20. That is better than the market, which loses about 5–6% a year, and ranks 3rd of the 15 most-listed models in our study (1st loses the least).

Each extra 10,000 miles takes about 4.4% off, which is less sensitive to mileage than the market (about 5% per 10,000 miles); that ranks 4th of 15 for mileage. Overall, the Hyundai i20 holds its value better than the typical used car.

Hyundai i20 asking prices by year

The oldest model year in the table, 2018 (5 cars), has a median asking price of £10,399 with 26,844 miles. The newest, 2026, sits at £17,049 with 5,847 miles. The biggest jump between consecutive years is from 2025 (£15,599) to 2026 (£17,049), partly because the newer cars have fewer miles (5,847 against 7,225).

Medians mix trims, engines and fuel types, so a single year's figure can move up or down with the mix of cars on sale. The per-year and per-mile rates above come from a regression that controls for fuel and gearbox.

What this means if you're selling your Hyundai i20

Most i20s for sale are nearly new: 221 of the 281 cars (79%) are 2025 or 2026 models. Older cars appear in small numbers, so there are fewer direct comparisons when you price an older i20.

Every i20 in the sample is petrol. The automatic premium is the smallest we measured, about 5.4%, even though 69% are automatic, so the gearbox alone will not add much to your price.

What this means if you're buying a used Hyundai i20

The i20 loses 4.3% a year, better than the market. A 2025 car is advertised at a median £15,599 with 7,225 miles.

Because the yearly medians for older i20s come from very few cars (for example 5 from 2020), treat them as rough guides and compare individual cars carefully.

Worked example

A 2025 Hyundai i20 with 7,225 miles is advertised at about £15,599. One more year of age takes off roughly £670; 10,000 more miles takes off roughly £690. A year in which you also drive 10,000 miles would cost around £1,360 in lost value, before fuel, tax, insurance and servicing.
